Even though these business think they may be saving money but not pumping their business resources into SEO, the reality is that they could be losing money. Since it could take several months for the site to gain traction in the search engines, the sooner you’re able to optimize your site for the search engines, the better your results will be. Besides, it’s much easier to optimize the site as you develop the site and can save time in the long run.

Start SEO in the Design Phase

You should begin to seriously think about your SEO strategy starting with the initial design and development phases. At this stage, you’ll want to involve your SEO team because they may have insights on how to design your site from a technical perspective that will make your SEO campaign more effective. Getting the team involved from now will save time and money because you won’t need to change the design to accommodate your SEO strategy. You’ll be able to “get it right” the first time around, and you’ll also be able to start implementing the plan right away.

Properly Optimize Your Content

SEO experts know exactly how to optimize content in the most effective way possible. You should make sure your content is optimized before you post it on your website so that you don’t need to go back and do it later. Since effective, white hat SEO strategies change constantly, it can be difficult to keep up with all the industry changes. The experts know exactly what needs to be done. If you follow outdated practices for optimization, this could do more harm than good by causing a penalty. To prevent this from happening, you should begin your SEO campaign right away but also make sure you’re doing it right.

SEO Can Help Build Your Brand

Another reason why you’ll want to start executing your SEO strategy right away rather than wait is that it can help build your brand. It all starts in the keyword research process. A good keyword list will include branded keywords and any other keywords that are relevant to your business in the search engines. However, in this case, more is not necessarily better. If you try to optimize your site for too many keywords at once, it will have the opposite affect. Not only will this get in the way of brand building, it also may confuse your visitors. However, the sooner you begin executing your SEO strategy, the stronger your brand will become, as long as you select the right keywords in the first place.
