Have You Given Your Agency Enough Time?

You’ve decided you need digital marketing help so you hire an agency. Then, after some time passes, you decide that it isn’t working, so you let the agency go. This may have felt like the right move, but it may not have been.
There are many reasons why it may not have worked out. However, one of the biggest that we’ve found is that perhaps the agency wasn’t given enough time to do the work. How do you know if this is the case or not?
Here are some thoughts that will help you decide if you’ve given your digital marketing agency enough time to get results for you:
Digital Marketing Is Long Term
In order to really make positive changes to your digital marketing, you need to give a strategy enough time to work. For digital marketing, it could take several months to even start showing signs that a strategy is not on the right track, and at least six months or more to see results. It’s such a long-term thing, though, that this could frustrate people and cause them to give up before the campaign has a chance to work.
What this means for you is that it doesn’t serve you to give up on the strategy and the work that the agency was trying to do before enough time has passed. If you keep creating strategies and then giving up before they’re fully implemented and starting to see results, you’ll never actually get anywhere. You won’t see an improvement of your digital marketing results; you’ll stay stuck in the same place.
Early Data Isn’t Accurate Enough to Validate
Too often, we see people use early data as proof whether or not a digital marketing strategy is working or not. While it is possible to see early data and then start to feel either positively or negatively about it, neither feeling is accurate. Early data can’t really be trusted. Although it’s nice to give yourself the win of feeling positive about some early signs in the data, the early data may not be accurate.
This is further proof that you need to give a digital marketing strategy enough time. This will ensure you have enough data to make accurate decisions as time goes on. Early data doesn’t always tell the whole story.
Build a Relationship with Your Agency
In an ideal world, you will want to find an agency partner that you trust. At that point, it is less about the strategy and more about working together to find the best way to move your business froward. Together. If you have open and honest communication with the agency, you can find ways to achieve your goals through the marketing process.
If you are having some anxiety about the results, you can work through things together. In other words, the relationship should be front of mind. Your results obviously matter too, but if you build the trust between you, it will be a much better experience overall.
As you can see, it is so important to give your digital marketing agency enough time to help you get the results you want. It’s not an overnight process, and you should be working together to achieve great results.
