How Can You Make SEO Affordable?
Many small business owners cannot afford to hire a full service SEO firm to create, execute and manage their SEO campaign. As a small business owner myself, I understand how budgets work and the need to account for every penny. However, SEO is too important and too integral to your business’s long term online success that you can’t afford to not afford it! You don’t need to shell out thousands of dollars a month, but nor should you jump on the cheap SEO services bandwagon and pay $49.95 for 500 links.
Here are 4 ways you can make SEO affordable, no matter how small your budget is:
1. Take advantage of the free resources.
The easiest way to make SEO affordable is to do it yourself, but before you dive in headfirst it pays to know what you’re doing! Both Google and Bing put out SEO Guides for site owners that are completely free, so that’s a great place to start your own SEO education. Obviously you are already reading the Brick Marketing SEO blog, but there are dozens (if not hundreds) of other great blogs put out by other SEO companies and industry sites where site owners can learn everything they’ve ever wanted to know about SEO. Download white papers, on-demand webinars, articles, podcasts and more for free!
2. Hire an SEO firm to outline a strategy, then execute it yourself.
Even with all the free resources, if you aren’t confident in your ability to create a white hat SEO link building campaign or what process you should follow to do an onsite optimization, consider hiring an SEO firm to outline a strategy for you that you can then execute on your own. This means you get the benefit of expert advice and guidance but still keep your SEO affordable since you are responsible for the final execution.
3. Start small and work with your own internal resources.
Maybe you can’t afford a full time copywriter, but chances are there is someone involved in your business who can string a decent sentence together. Have that person (or you!) start by writing one blog post a week. Content is so important for SEO that every little bit counts and builds on itself, but it is incredibly long term. The longer you wait to start your content marketing the longer it will take to have any real value. You don’t have to start pumping out dozens of articles every day, but keep chipping away at it with whatever internal resources you have and this will not only keep your SEO affordable, but on the right track to success!
4. Take an SEO workshop
Although most SEO workshops aren’t going to be free, they are a great way to kick up your SEO education and make you more confident in your campaign. Learn from an industry expert and walk away with a few key points that you can implement as soon as you get back into the office and the workshop will have paid for itself!
