Getting Through the Hard Times of SEO
Let’s face it: search engine optimization is the biggest pain of owning an online business. It would be great if you could just put your site on the web and have people come to it. As we all know though, that’s far from what happens. Instead, you go through trial after trial, trying to find the perfect SEO to get users flooding the pages. This is a tough time in a website’s life, one that the vast majority of people never make it through.
To help yourself avoid the same failure, consider some of the tips below.
Never start a website if you’re desperate for money. It’s never going to make as much as you want it to or do so as quickly as you need it to. You need to have some sort of financial stability before you begin your trek through SEO. Time is costly, especially if you have to pay high dollar for the site, products, workers, etc. If you want fast money, get an actual job and build your site on the side. Then hire someone to take over the SEO so your site still gets full time attention.
Aside from an SEO consultant, try to use as many free SEO tools as you can. Google has a ton of different programs that will help you optimize your site, and they are all free to use. Social networks are free to create a profile, and you can use them for social media marketing. If you’re a decent writer, develop your own content to save money. You could also write your own articles to submit to directories, or spend some free time blog commenting. That may all be rolled into your consultant fee though, so you may not even have to do that much.
Finally, don’t give up when you think the site has no hope left. That’s just a sign that you need to adjust. Search engine optimization isn’t something that happens over night. It’s only the patient ones that see the rewards. When you think you aren’t doing something right, look at the competition. What are they doing to get higher than you on the results? Try to beat them at their own game. Your consultant can help you do that, but eventually you will be the one setting the course. Remain calm and hopeful, and everything else will fall into place.
