Add These Things to Your Blog Posts Today
If you’re consistently blogging and incorporating SEO elements into your blog posts (incorporating keywords naturally, writing optimized titles and descriptions, etc.), you’re already way ahead of many websites. But there’s a good chance that you can still be doing better. We’re avid blog readers ourselves and we find that so many blogs (and blog posts) are leaving out simple elements that can really enhance the posts with little effort. Here are 5 things to start adding to your blog posts today:
A blog post image isn’t going to directly help the SEO of the blog since search spiders can’t see images and only crawl text. But think about the user experience. A page that’s full of only text can be off-putting, even if the content is great. Visuals help break up the text and can also help to convey the message with charts, graphs, etc. And think about social media. What catches your eye as you browse your feed? Most likely it’s the images you’re seeing and an eye-catching image can result in clicks to blog posts.
Social share buttons
Make it that much easier for readers to share your content in social media by including social share buttons right there in the post. You can include these buttons at the top and bottom of the page. You don’t need to include share buttons to every social network that exists, but pick the top social networks that resonate the most with your target audience.
If the purpose of your website is to generate leads, a lead form should be included on every page, including every blog post! You never know when someone might decide that they want to get in touch. They might be on your Contact Us page, but they might also be reading one of your insightful blog posts. Don’t make them go looking for a form. It should be right there in plain view with call to actions. Remember to keep the lead form as simple as possible. A complex lead form not only looks clunky and takes up too much space on the page, it can also be a turn off and cost you leads.

You’ve put a lot of effort into your blog posts, don’t you want people to read them? Promote your posts by including a “related content” section on your blog that appears underneath each post that recommends other, similar blog posts that you’ve written to your readers.
Who wrote the blog post? Sometimes it makes sense to leave it as the company name. But if you have multiple writers on your team, showcase who they are to your blog readers with a brief bio. This helps to bring a face/name and personality to your company that can instill trust among blog readers/target audience members.
If your blog is missing any of these elements, consider talking to your web developer about adding them. It won’t take much time but they can give your blog posts that extra boost they need.
